Have Fun in Boracay Island
Boracay is a tropical island in the Philippines located approximately 315km south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas. The island is accessible by air from Manila or Cebu through two principal gateways such as Caticlan airport or Kalibo airport. It is an amazing island paradise which becomes an international tourist hub with 30 beach resorts, 20 dive sites, scores of restaurants, a sprinkling of bars and discos, and an 18-hole golf course. Aside of its crystal blue waters, Boracay has seemingly endless rows of palm trees, lush tropical jungles, a healthy marine life, and breathtaking sunset. The famous powdery White Sand Beach is where most of tourist goes to see and be seen. The beach is a bit over four kilometers long and is lined with resorts, hotels, lodging houses, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses. The Bulabog Beach is a secondary tourism beach and Boracay’s main windsurfing and kiteboarding area.
There are two main modes of transportation in the island via motor-tricycles along the main road or by walking along the beaches. Pedicabs are also available for transport along the Beachfront Path. Tourists use motorized bancas and sailing paraws to explore around the island’s coast. The sailing paraw is a narrow hulled boat with outriggers either side and with passengers sometimes seated on a trampoline platform between the outriggers support. At any point in the island, visitors can hear English, German and French spoken fluently. More importantly, visitors respect the serene quality of the place, and pay tribute to native Boracaynons by behaving according to local behavioral codes-which means no nudity, no fighting, and no loud commotions.
Aside from our very own Filipino (Tagalog) dialect, English has been widely spoken in Boracay. It would have remained a national secret if not for a few foreign travellers who accidentally stumbled upon the place. Visitors have plenty of rooms to sit back and relax, ranging from luxurious hotel types to budget, the spartan rooms. They can also choose according to location–Station 3 is where most of the cheaper lodgings are located, while Station 2 is meant for those who want to be within close proximity of the bars. Spend most of your time in there while drinking a beer or dance in the sand with a few brilliant fireflies.
