She’s one of a kind with a very down-to-earth gesture despite of her fame and wealth. Aileen Quimado Iwamoto or better known as Iwa is a Filipina actress with a Japanese descent on her blood. Her late father was Japanese which diagnosed with liver cancer and died on March 8, 2009 while her mother is a pure Filipina.

Iwa is the eldest among the three siblings and her showbiz career was first discovered when she auditioned on the famous GMA-7 talent search show “StarStruck.” It was not an easy way for her knowing she has failed to qualify on her first audition for second season until she has succeeded for the third season of StarStruck. She slowly put her name in the showbiz world when she ended up as the First Princess along with Gian Carlos as the First Prince. Then Iwa became famous of her roles playing “Rita Acuesta” on Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap and “Valentina” in much anticipated pinoy fantasy Darna.

Because of her gorgeous looks, Iwa was voted as the 5th Sexiest Woman in the Philippines in 2009 via FHM Philippines. Most of her fans are men who are craving for her. At this early stage on her career, there are lots of incoming projects that have made for her. Iwa’s fans surely can’t wait to see her doing a little bit naughty performance.

Filipinos are going to celebrate and remember again the memories of the 4 days non-violent revolt that ended the Marcos regime. The 1986 People Power Revolution or EDSA 1 was the biggest and the most successful revolt happened in the Philippine history. Over 2,000,000 Filipino people were peacefully gathered in the EDSA Shrine which started on February 22-25 for them to end the corrupt governance by late Pres. Ferdinand Marcos and rebuilt the democratic system of government. It was a peaceful cry for freedom and independence for the Filipino people.

The said event was participated by several political, military, and religious figures such as the late Bishop Jaime Cardinal Sin. The EDSA Revolution is now part of Filipino political culture and behavior. Filipinos understand and approve of people power as their spontaneous collective action to take matters into their own hands to force the resignation or ouster of a president whom they judge to be grossly corrupt and abusive of his powers, a traitor to his high office and his country. It was when ousted President Marcos goes down to Malacanang Palace and forcefully fled to the United States and conceded to Corazon Aquino as the new President of the Philippines.

On February 25, 1986, it was the day when Corazon Aquino finally sworn in as president by Supreme Court Senior Justice Claudio Teehankee at Club Filipino together with her vice Laurel. Also Juan Ponce Enrile was appointed as Defense Minister and Fidel V. Ramos as Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff. A constitutional commission was then formed and replaced the 1973 Constitution. The new 1987 Constitution was ratified through a plebiscite held on 2 February 1987.

If you want to breathe fresh air and stay away from the heavy traffic in the city, Bantayan Island is a perfect place for you. Everyone can get there around via motorbikes with less traffic. Aside from that, this place is also known for its powder white sands, crystal clear water, especially along the southwest coast and a low-key, laid-back resort with very friendly people around there.

Going to Bantayan Island is easy and hassle-free. If you are in Cebu City area, there are two options in going there either you can ride a bus to Hagnaya; then after that you can go by boat from Hagnaya to Santa Fe where there are regular ferries daily to Santa Fe on Bantayan Island. The other option is just simply ride a fast craft like Oceanjet and hydrofoil from Cebu City toward the island in less than an hour.

Bantayan Island has lots of resorts to choose from. All resorts are a tricycle ride from the Santa Fe pier. Santa Fe (a known province in the island) has also some very good food and, during the high season, a lively bar scene is a perfect place for you to chill out. They often serve fresh sea foods and excellent Thai foods and it is worthwhile to come back to Bantayan just for this kind of foods.

If you are in a budget, Bantayan Island is the right place for you where there are many affordable smaller hotels/resorts with cottages and rooms in just about every price range from less than $5.00/USD to $40.00/USD per night & up through $100+ through a lovely South Sea studio Villa on a very beautiful property, and all the way to $240.00USD for a honeymoon styled studio Villa on a gorgeous property.

Sen. Benigno Aquino III impose and challenge his counterpart and primary rival Sen. Manny Villar to have an exclusive one-on-one debate for them to let and help the Filipino people decide and to judge who among them is really sincere and the right person to become the next president of the Philippines.

It was all started during an interview at the sidelines of the FOCAP presidential forum when Aquino issued a challenge to his toughest rival. He said that the candidates cannot discuss and elaborate their platforms more when many aspirants participate in a forum and a lack of time.

Aquino believes a one-on-one debate would be a good idea since a candidate can explain his/her platforms without limitations. The challenge clearly addresses to his primary rival Sen. Manuel Villar. The two candidates currently hold the no. 1 and 2 spots on the initial survey with a very slim margin that separates each of them.

Meanwhile, Villar finally accepted Aquino’s challenge and said that public debates are an opportunity “to present plans and programs of government to the general public.”

“If such were the purpose of the challenge, I will gladly accede. Name the place, name the time, I will be there. If however, it is the intention of anyone -individual or party – to find a platform for senseless argumentation and mudslinging with the hope of calling attention unto oneself, then I will have to decline,” he added.

Other presidential bets shows interest in the one-on-one debate challenge are former defense secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., Senators Richard Gordon and Ana Consuelo “Jamby” Madrigal, Nicanor Perlas, JC de los Reyes and Eddie Villanueva.

It has been a tradition for us Filipinos to celebrate and show our love to our special someone on this very romantic event which happens every 14th day of this month. Lovers are seeing everywhere in public areas like plazas turned into lovers lane or wherever they choose to have a date. Husband and wives are not exempted celebrating the Valentine’s Day.

Men express their love for each other in different ways just like giving red roses or chocolates to his girl, offering confectionery, and sending a valentine’s card. Heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid are the common symbols of the Valentine’s Day. It is already expected the price of the flowers are quite high than its normal range. Of course, the boutique owners are jumping into the opportunity of high demand during this day.

As a Roman Catholic Country, Valentine’s Day can be spent by lovers without breaking the law of God. It is not tolerable for them to go in motels and do premarital sex. But on this modern day, some of us are not giving importance on this matter anymore. We just continue doing things of what we think can give us self-satisfaction.

The most wonderful part of Valentine’s Day in the Philippines is the fact that whether or not there is economic crisis in the country, this wouldn’t become a hindrance for us Filipinos by not giving anymore red roses or sweet stuff to the people we care so much, it could be our loved ones, office mates, friends, or even those who have hurt our feelings.

“Clottey is very basic, he does the same things, but he is very good at what he does, but Manny is going to knock him out. He has a great chin, a big right hand, but Manny knows how to nullify his strengths,” Roach told The Telegraph’s Gareth Davies.

Clottey is a former International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight champion and a very sturdy welterweight who has a size advantage and power to upset the Filipino Superstar.

Meanwhile, Coach Freddie also talked about the current status and progress in Pacquiao’s training camp.

“He has sparred twice, he looks really good, he knocked out one sparring partner and we have four other sparring partners in here at the moment.”

Manny Pacquiao’s diet and conditioning Guru Alex Ariza added that PacMan is “very sharp and looks like he’ll be ready to fight next week.”
