Filipina Actress Anne Curtis

Anne Ojales Curtis Smith or also known as Anne Curtis is a Filipino-Australian television and film actress. She was born on February 17, 1985 and currently leading the cast of the Philippine television series Dyosa. Anne was born and raised in Australia by a Filipina mother and an Australian father. She lived in Australia until her lawyer father, James Curtis-Smith, moved to the Philippines when she was 12 years old.

Although her father was against Anne doing commercials and her increasing attraction towards showbiz, this Australian-Filipina actor made her mark with some remarkable role-playing. Anne’s career did not start smooth and she had to do with insignificant and supporting roles in TV shows aired on the GMA-7 Network in the Philippines. The tide changed when she jumped onto the ABS-CBN bandwagon. She was suddenly on primetime TV with the role of Stephanie Borromeo in “Hiram”. She played the role of a best friend to Margaret Benipayo, played by heart Evagelista.

Soon Anne struck gold with the lead role as Fatima in the fantasy series “Kampanerang Kuba” (2005). She was now an actor to be reckoned with and her popularity was ever growing. Anne’s fan continued to rise further with her defining role in Love to Love with Richard Gutierrez. Anne became the very first winner on MYX Awards 2005 for “Favorite Guest Appearance in a Music Video” for I Need You by Mark Bautista.

In 2006 Curtis returned to primetime TV as Celine Magsaysay in drama series Maging Sino Ka Man, this time with new love team partner Sam Milby. In 2007, she became a part of MTV as a VJ on Gimme 10. Anne is a natural VJ because of her love for music. She can spend hours talking about her favorite albums or the concerts she watched recently. In 2008 she starred When Love Begins. Currently, she plays a goddess in the fantasy series Dyosa. The next Anne will see in a period movie Baler an official entry to MMFF, her leading man is Jericho Rosales.
