Filipina Actress Jessica Mendiola Tawile
Jessica is one of the new faces in the Philippine showbiz. Her real name is Jessica Mendiola Tawile, an 18 yr. old Filipina actress (born December 3, 1992) originally came from ABS-CBN’s Star Magic batch 15 together with co-stars Megan Young, Alfonso Martinez, and Carlo Guevarra as her batchmates. Jessica was born in United Arab Emirates where her father, a British-Lebanese descent used to work there. And her mother is a pure Filipina which they have blessed with three siblings.
When Jessica was in three years of age, she was brought by her mother together with her elder sister to the Philippines. Her parents got separated for undisclosed reasons but she still finds a way to communicate her father who now working in the overseas.
In 2008, Mendiola started her young career as the cast of Chappy Girl in the TV
adaptation of the same name of the film Volta. She also happened to be featured in the 2008 trailer of the show which was originally titled as Humingi Ako Sa Langit but the said show was cancelled and not aired.
But last year (2010), would have been the biggest break of her career when she was offered plenty of projects.
Jessica appeared as a guest in George and Cecil, playing the love interest of Dino Imperial’s Jun. She then became a cast as Christina in the TV series Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.
Due to positive feedback, her one week guest appearance in Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo was extended. She also became the later cast in Your Song Presents: Gimik 2010, playing the role of the reformed rebel Jessy. Mendiola had lead roles in Maalala Mo Kaya’s “Marriage Contract” episode and in Wansapanatym’s episode “Kakambal Ko’y Manika”. And the latest is playing the title role of the current ABS-CBN afternoon TV show Sabel.
