Manny Plays Basketball after Training Session
BAGUIO, Philippines – 7-division boxing world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao does his usual routine by playing basketball every time he has upcoming fights which they considered it as part of his training regimen. Not just only a superstar in boxing ring, Manny also shows superb skills and speed on the hard court in Baguio City last Monday.
Team Pacquiao will let Manny play basketball three times a week but they will stop it one month before his fight on November 14. His brother Bobby Pacquiao and sparring mates American Glen Tapia and Mexican Michael Medina, joined the ball game as well.
“Talagang pag nag-te-training ako, nag-ba-basketball talaga ako. Pampa-relax during training kasi. Pero marami rin akong sports na nilalaro like darts, billiards,” Pacquiao said.
He added that playing basketball helps him gauge his speed and endurance.
On the other hand, Manny throws powerful shots on the mitts while his training that made his coach Freddie Roach surrendered at the end of 12 rounds.
“I told him yesterday he couldn’t hurt me so I think today he wanted to show me that he could. I have never seen a person get in shape so fast. If you look at him today you would say he’s ready to box tomorrow. I honestly believe he will knock Margarito out, Roach said.
