Pacquiao Loss; a Big Disgrace to Boxing
MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas USA — Most boxing fans and expert analysts in all over the world are getting shocked and been so emotional when Michael Buffer started to announce the winner on Saturday’s mega fight showdown between 8th time division world champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated champion Timothy Bradley Jr. that ended a highly controversial split decision loss in favor of Bradley.
The 3 judges scored the bout with an identical 115-113 margin. Judges CJ Ross and Duane Ford scored it for Bradley while Jerry Roth had Pacquiao the winner. But their final verdict seemed very opposite of the actual fight outcome.
The Compubox stats showed Manny Pacquiao way ahead in both punches thrown and connected and power punches thrown and landed. Pacquiao landed a total of 253 of 751 punches while Bradley landed 159 of 839 which showed a wide disparity both in terms of numbers and percentages in favor of Pacquiao. In power punches Pacquiao landed 190 of 493 while Bradley landed just 108 of 390.
He (Bradley) maybe won the judges official scorecards, but not at least in the eyes of most boxing fans. Not just the Filipinos but the entire world is tinge of disappointment of the result and knows who really won the fight. Even Pacquiao’s critics scored the bout in favor of him.
Manny showed his ring generalship and complete dominance in the fight while Bradley got outclassed, outworked, out struck, and out maneuvered all over tonight. Decisions like these made the sport of boxing losses its credibility and pronounced dead on June 9, 2012 at MGM Gardens.
