Baguio is known as the summer capital of the Philippines and a highly urbanized city in northern Luzon. It is also called the “City of Pines” due to all the pine trees growing on the mountain slopes around the city. If you ride a plane from Metro Manila, it only takes an hour for you to arrive in Baguio. For economical reasons, you can also ride a bus but it takes you not less than 5 hours upon arrival. Some people prefer to ride a bus for them to enjoy seeing the views as the road enters the mountainous regions.

Let’s Enjoy Swimming in Pagsanjan Falls
The falls have grown into one of the famous tourist attractions in the Philippines. Pagsanjan falls is situated three miles outside of the town of Pagsanjan somewhere in the rugged highlands of Cavinti about 100 km SE of Manila located in the Laguna province near the town of Santa Cruz. Its site is a national territory under the supervision of the Parks and Wildlife Office of the Bureau of Forestry Development. The only passable route to it is the Bumbungan River of Pagsanjan. Before reaching Pagsanjan Falls, tourists or visitors have to ride these boats (bangka), manned by skilled Pagsanjeño boatmen (bankeros). Two young men are hired with the canoe which usually carries two passengers.

Taal Lake, Philippines
Taal Lake is a freshwater lake located in the province of Batangas, on the island of Luzon, Philippines. It is formerly known as Bombon Lake, is 60 km south of Manila. It is the deepest lake in the Philippines (172 m) and the third largest in area (234.2 km2). The active Taal Volcano, which is the one responsible for the lake’s sulfuric content, lies on an island in the center of the lake, called Volcano Island. The island is called pulo or islet by the locals.

Cebu Magellan’s Cross
Magellan’s Cross is a Christian Cross planted by Portuguese and Spanish Explorers as ordered by Ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on April 21, 1521. It is mainly located in a street aptly name for the first Portuguese to set foot in Cebu, Magallanes. He planted a cross to signify this important event about the propagation of the Roman Catholic faith in what is now Cebu, in central Philippines. The original cross is reputedly encased in another wooden cross for protection, as people started chipping it away in the belief that it had miraculous healing powers.

Baguio City’s Burnham Park
Burnham Park is considered as Baguio City’s premier park and it is the most popular park in town. The park features an artificial boating lake in the center and is located right in the middle of Baguio City, and is named after Daniel H Burnham, the American architect and town planner who laid out Baguio. Burnham Park has also an orchidarium, a rose garden, a terrace restaurant, a children’s playground, bicycle lanes, and areas for basketball and other sports.

Fort Santiago, Manila, Philippines
The area which is now occupied by Fort Santiago is a natural defensive position that has been used for centuries. Fort Santiago is a ruined old Spanish fort, now used as a park. There is a collection of rusting cars which belonged to previous Presidents dot the park. The fort is part of the structures of the walled city of Intramuros, in Manila, Philippines. The climb to the top of Fort Santiago is worth the view of the Pasig River.
