Rock and Roll with Kamikazee Band

Kamikazee is a Filipino rock band which composes of five members such as Jay Contreras (lead vocalist), Jomal Linao (guitar/back-up vocals), Led Zeppelin Tuyay (guitars), Jason “Puto” Astete (bassist), and Allan “Bords” Burdeos (drummer).

They have firstly met in college at the College of Fine Arts of the University of the Philippines Diliman. Kamikazee’s early gigs were mostly campus events in UP Diliman like the annual UP Fair. Before they were signed, they went by the name “Kamikazee Cornflakes” in 2000, which was eventually shortened to its current state as “Kamikazee” was easier to remember. Their early shows included renditions of the songs “Tsinelas”, a cover of Ariel Rivera’s “Sana Kahit Minsan”, and Britney Spears’ Lucky.

Bamboo is an alternative rock band in Philippines found in early 2000. Bamboo Mañalac serves as the band’s front man. Bamboo’s story takes a microscopic view of the local music scene. It all starts with a dream. Taking inspiration from all the demigods that sang to them from their crabby speakers, spewing wisdom and good vibes out of worn out cassettes long before an apple gave birth to a pod, they pick up an instrument, string up some riffs, weave some melodies, sing a few songs. Parokya ni Edgar is a Filipino Rock Band that was formed in 1993 by a group of Ateneo high school students. The band is very popular and most lauded for its original rock novelty songs and often satirical covers of famous songs. Urbandub is a Filipino rock band especially came from Cebu, Philippines. The band has 4 members which comprises of Gabby Alipe (lead vocals, guitar), John Dinopol (lead guitar), Lalay Lim (bass, vocals) and JanJan Mendoza (drummer). The band have come out with a completely infectious and original blend of dynamic song structures and hurricane-force rhythms that made them a sure thing to break out of the pack, but even the band could not have imagined how far. In fact, Urbandub was the first indie band who releases albums nationwide thru EMI’s help.
