Biliran Island is a province in Central Philippines which lies between Northern Leyte and Eastern Samar. It is surrounded on the north by the Samar Sea; on the east by Western Samar; on the west by Visayan Sea; and on the south by Carigara Bay. Biliran Island is a volcanic island with many of laid back resorts and beaches and has some beautiful good diving spots. As of May 2000 census, the island of Biliran has a population of 140,274.
