The long wait is over after Manny Pacquiao finally agreed to fight Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico at a catch weight of 145 lbs. King Manny is letting go of the lightweight crown he won over David Diaz last June 28.
The Filipino superstar, all set to face the great Oscar dela Hoya at 147 pounds, told Filipino journalists last Wednesday he’d never fight again in the 135-pound division.
“Actually I think I’d never go back down to 135,” said Pacquiao when asked about the possibility of him trying to defend the WBC lightweight crown.

LAS VEGAS–Mexican Heriberto Ruiz took a unanimous decision win over Rey ‘Boom Boom’ Bautista seconds ago in their 8-round bout here at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Ruiz knocked down Bautista in the third with a left hook, and Bautista was deducted a point in the seventh due to low blows, earning for the Mexican a 77-73, 78-72, 80-70 win. Bautista falls to 26-2 while Ruiz who improves his record to 40-7-2.
