Manny Pacquiao is the 56th Time Magazine most influential person in the world
Time Magazine has named Manny as the 56th most influential person in the world. Forbes magazine has also listed him the 6th richest athlete in the world. President Gloria Arroyo keeps receiving Pacquiao as a Palace guest like royalty. She has recently appointed him as an Ambassador of peace and goodwill.
Former President Erap Estrada has intimidated his desire to have Pacquiao in his camp for the upcoming 2010 elections following their meeting in General Santos on the past 2 weeks. Even former US President Bill Clinton admired and had photographed beside Manny in Las Vegas hours before Pacquiao knocked Ricky Hatton out on their May 3 fight.

Manny Gives up his WBC Belt
King Manny is letting go of the lightweight crown he won over David Diaz last June 28.
The Filipino superstar, all set to face the great Oscar dela Hoya at 147 pounds, told Filipino journalists last Wednesday he’d never fight again in the 135-pound division.
“Actually I think I’d never go back down to 135,” said Pacquiao when asked about the possibility of him trying to defend the WBC lightweight crown.

The Blue Eagles Grabs the 2008 UAAP Championship Crown
Manila, Philippines – Ateneo survived a determined La Salle team to win 62-51 and clinch the men’s basketball championship of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines at the Araneta Coliseum. According to the fans, the game was very exciting and intensifying that would be considered one of the best games in league’s history. The game was very intense especially when the La Salle Green Archers scored 15 point lead in half-time of the game. But the Star Player shooting guard Chris Tiu, came to the rescue and led the way for the Blue Eagles with 16 points. This is the second time for Ateneo Blue Eagles since 2002 and fourth time in the UAAP Championship.
