Filipinos are going to celebrate and remember again the memories of the 4 days non-violent revolt that ended the Marcos regime. The 1986 People Power Revolution or EDSA 1 was the biggest and the most successful revolt happened in the Philippine history. Over 2,000,000 Filipino people were peacefully gathered in the EDSA Shrine which started on February 22-25 for them to end the corrupt governance by late Pres. Ferdinand Marcos and rebuilt the democratic system of government. It was a peaceful cry for freedom and independence for the Filipino people.

Filipinos Bring Back the Memories of EDSA Revolution as the Funeral Cortege of Former President Cory Aquino Goes On
There are about 25,000 people lined the streets from the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros to United Nations Avenue to pay their final respects to former President Corazon Aquino, the National Capital Region Police Office said Wednesday.
Despite of heavy rains brought by tropical storm “Kiko” that affects several areas of Metro Manila right now, it doesn’t stop the people to witness the funeral cortege of the late President Aquino. The crowds chanted Cory’s name and flashed the “L” sign as Aquino’s hearse passed enroute to Manila Memorial Park.

Malacañang Declared a Non-Working Holiday on August 5
Malacañang has declared a non-working holiday in all regions on August 5, 2009 to give honor of the late former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday where the former President will be buried beside her late husband, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. at the Manila Memorial Park.

Filipinos offer prayers and support for ailing former President Corazon Aquino
Former Philippine President Corazon Aquino suffers colon cancer that could be the biggest battle she encounters on her entire life. She has been confined at the Makati Medical Center last June 24 due to loss of appetite. In March 2008, Mrs. Aquino’s children disclosed that she was diagnosed with colon cancer. She underwent operation in May 2009 to remove part of her colon.
Friends, relatives, and even the entire Filipino nation are now offering their prayers and healing masses for the recovery of 76-year-old People Power icon. The nine-day series of healing masses are held at the Greenbelt chapel in Makati.
