Chinese Milk Products Can Do Harm To Humans

The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) temporarily holds the sale of milk products in the Philippines that came from major Chinese dairy companies such as Mengniu Dairy Co and Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group due to suspected melamine contamination. BFAD Director Leticia Gutierrez said the bureau is still conducting tests on locally distributed Yili and Mengniu products after melamine-contaminated milk from China left thousands of infants hospitalized. The milk samples will undergo tests to determine if they are positive for melamine contamination. It will take a couple of weeks to know the results, she added.
