Let’s Enjoy Swimming in Pagsanjan Falls

The falls have grown into one of the famous tourist attractions in the Philippines. Pagsanjan falls is situated three miles outside of the town of Pagsanjan somewhere in the rugged highlands of Cavinti about 100 km SE of Manila located in the Laguna province near the town of Santa Cruz. Its site is a national territory under the supervision of the Parks and Wildlife Office of the Bureau of Forestry Development. The only passable route to it is the Bumbungan River of Pagsanjan. Before reaching Pagsanjan Falls, tourists or visitors have to ride these boats (bangka), manned by skilled Pagsanjeño boatmen (bankeros). Two young men are hired with the canoe which usually carries two passengers.

Bohol’s Chocolate Hills

The Chocolate Hills is considered Bohol’s most popular tourist attraction. It composes approximately 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills of about the same size, spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers. The domes vary in sizes from 30 to 50 meters (98 to 160 ft) high with the largest being 120 meters (390 ft) in height. They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name. These hills are scattered throughout the towns of Carmen, Batuan, and Sagbayan in Bohol.

Obama nominates Republican Gregg for Commerce job

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama named a third prominent Republican to his cabinet on Tuesday, nominating Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire as commerce secretary.

A respected lawmaker and accomplished negotiator, Gregg, 61, is the ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee. He could play a key role in selling Obama’s nearly $900 billion stimulus package to skeptical members of his party.

Romblon is an island in the Philippines which is located MIMAROPA region in Luzon. Oil prices cuts-off below $45 per barrel

Oil prices continue to decline below $45 a barrel Friday in reaction to fresh evidence of the US recession and news that a $14 billion emergency bailout for US automakers had collapsed in the Senate.

The decline passed over most of the strong gains made in the previous day’s session, but traders said expectations of an important production cut by OPEC would help keep a floor under prices.
