She’s one of a kind with a very down-to-earth gesture despite of her fame and wealth. Aileen Quimado Iwamoto or better known as Iwa is a Filipina actress with a Japanese descent on her blood. Her late father was Japanese which diagnosed with liver cancer and died on March 8, 2009 while her mother is a pure Filipina.

Iwa is the eldest among the three siblings and her showbiz career was first discovered when she auditioned on the famous GMA-7 talent search show “StarStruck.” It was not an easy way for her knowing she has failed to qualify on her first audition for second season until she has succeeded for the third season of StarStruck. She slowly put her name in the showbiz world when she ended up as the First Princess along with Gian Carlos as the First Prince. Then Iwa became famous of her roles playing “Rita Acuesta” on Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap and “Valentina” in much anticipated pinoy fantasy Darna.

Because of her gorgeous looks, Iwa was voted as the 5th Sexiest Woman in the Philippines in 2009 via FHM Philippines. Most of her fans are men who are craving for her. At this early stage on her career, there are lots of incoming projects that have made for her. Iwa’s fans surely can’t wait to see her doing a little bit naughty performance.

Sen. Benigno Aquino III impose and challenge his counterpart and primary rival Sen. Manny Villar to have an exclusive one-on-one debate for them to let and help the Filipino people decide and to judge who among them is really sincere and the right person to become the next president of the Philippines.

It was all started during an interview at the sidelines of the FOCAP presidential forum when Aquino issued a challenge to his toughest rival. He said that the candidates cannot discuss and elaborate their platforms more when many aspirants participate in a forum and a lack of time.

Aquino believes a one-on-one debate would be a good idea since a candidate can explain his/her platforms without limitations. The challenge clearly addresses to his primary rival Sen. Manuel Villar. The two candidates currently hold the no. 1 and 2 spots on the initial survey with a very slim margin that separates each of them.

Meanwhile, Villar finally accepted Aquino’s challenge and said that public debates are an opportunity “to present plans and programs of government to the general public.”

“If such were the purpose of the challenge, I will gladly accede. Name the place, name the time, I will be there. If however, it is the intention of anyone -individual or party – to find a platform for senseless argumentation and mudslinging with the hope of calling attention unto oneself, then I will have to decline,” he added.

Other presidential bets shows interest in the one-on-one debate challenge are former defense secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., Senators Richard Gordon and Ana Consuelo “Jamby” Madrigal, Nicanor Perlas, JC de los Reyes and Eddie Villanueva.

Fruit salad recipe is a very simple and easy to prepare. All you need to do is to prepare the fruits of your own choice. Please select the freshest fruits in the market so that you will be able to have the best and healthy salad in town. This recipe is a perfect to serve during special occasions like b-days, Christmas, New Year, and Fiestas. Occasions are not somehow complete w/o it.

It has been proven that fruit salad has antioxidants to slow down the aging process, prevent and even reverse cancer and heart disease and strengthen the immune system. Plus, eating assorted fresh fruits is very delicious and fun too.

For me, it is best to prepare the salad ahead of time. You may cover and place it to the refrigerator first to hold the freshness of your fruit salad. And also, it allows the topping to gradually seep into all the fruit which not only looks pretty but distributes the taste.

Ingredients:

• 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
• 2 (15.25 ounce) cans fruit cocktail
• 3 tablespoons maraschino cherries, halved
• 1 banana, sliced
The Filipinos love to hear this song while doing the so-called “clap-clap-point” dance step. A big hit in Korea since early 2008, the Wonder Girls has crossed over to Manila in such a big way that even the world-famous Cebu inmates have a video which show the boys dancing to the song.

The group originally composed of five members such as Sun Ye (Sun), Sun Mi (Mimi), Sohee, Ye Eun (Yenny), and Yubin. Ex-member Hyuna was removed from the group by her parents due to their concern over her health in particular, chronic gastroenteritis. The Wonder Girls was produced by singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young and are signed to his talent agency, JYP entertainment.

On February 28, 2009, the group had their first international tour in Bangkok, Tailand. Then, they together with mentor JYP held concerts in the United States visiting several states such as Los Angeles, La Mirada, and New York City. The Wonder Girls joined the concert of Jonas Brothers on the North American leg of the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009. Due to demands, the group also released an English version of their single “Nobody”. The girls’ US debut album is up for release next year.

The Wonder Girls has already released a mini-album (“The Wonder Begins”), three full-length albums (“The Wonder Years”, “So Hot” and “The Wonder Years Trilogy”) and they have earned two Daesangs (their equivalent to the Grammy’s). They have three consecutive Number Ones under their belts: “Tell Me”, “So Hot” and “Nobody”.

Beef Bulalo or other known as Pochero actually refers to the beef bone marrow which is boiled for hours until the marrow is tapped out from the bone. It is one such a favorite Filipino soup that is perfectly served during cold weather even in warm weather too. The hotter the soup it was made, the best time to serve.

This dish is a hearty one-pot meal. Terribly easy to do, but it does take some planning as it does take a while to cook. So, you should start to prepare the cooking in the afternoon hoping to have it done in the dinner time.

Ingredients

• 2 kg beef bone marrow, have your butcher chop it into small pieces
• 1 kg boneless beef shank or stewing beef
• 1 onion, peeled and sliced
• 3 liters water
• 2-3 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
• 2-3 saba (plantain) bananas, each cut into two pieces
• 1 whole medium cabbage, quartered
• 2 cobs of corn cut into 1.5? segments
• 3-4 tablespoons fish sauce (patis)
• Salt and pepper to taste

Procedures

• Blanch bone marrow and boneless beef shank or stewing beef in hot boiling water for a while and rinse in cold running tap water to remove scum and blood.
• Place bone marrow and onion in a stockpot, pour in the 3 liters of water and bring to the boil.
• I suggest to used a pressure cooker since beef bone marrow takes quite a while to soften, if so pressure cook for 45 minutes or cook until meat is soft and close to falling off the bone.
• Add the boneless beef shank or stewing beef and corn and return to the boil.
• When it boils, lower heat and simmer until beef is tender, about 1 to 1½ hours.
• Add the potatoes and bananas.
• Simmer until potatoes and bananas are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes.
• Add the cabbage and stir in fish sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
• Cook until cabbage is tender-crisp, about 2 minutes.
• Serve it hot.
